Achcauhtl: Initiated Youth Leadership

Andres "Red Red" Rojas Rojas

Achcautl Since 2014

Andrés Rojas Rojas was born in Esparza, Costa Rica in 1998.  He was raised on a farm, but educated for studies in schools to an unknown purpose at the moment. In 2011, Andres was introduced into Amerikano Estudios, were he found interests and pursued studies of mythology, ethno-botany, music composition, literature, writing, mathematics, storytelling, juggling, languages, anthropology, shamanism…

In 2014 he was challenged to be the first student to move from traditional public school to a full-time program in AE, “Bachidesafío”, in which he would pass grades via periodic tests while spending his time exploring wider possibilities of learning available through a holistic vision. Andres quickly demonstrated leadership and helped several peers to take an active role in their learning, and join the new program. In 2015 Andres assumed a primary role in the community of Originateve/Amerikano Estudios in Esparza, and was recently named Caretaker of the House of Origins.
